Basin Head Creek – hold

Basin Head Creek is actually a sub-watershed of the South Lake Watershed, which stretches from Basin in the west to East Point in the east. The "Basin" is a Marine Protected Area which is home to a unique type of Irish moss that grows nowhere else in the world. In addition, Basin Head is home to a Provincial Day Use Park.

At a Glance

Due to its importance to the northeastern region of PEI, the Basin Head Watershed Management Plan was developed and approved by the community in 2011. This document describes in detail the physical, biological, and land use characteristics of the Basin Head sub-watershed.

Many species of wildlife make use of the habitats within the watersheds. The links below are resources and observations within the watershed.
