The Souris and Area Branch of the PEI Wildlife Federation are planning our 7th Annual Fundraising Lobster Dinner to be held on Sunday, August 11th at the Eastern Kings Sportsplex in Souris.
Our dinner will include smoked mackerel and salmon hors d’oeuvres, a delicious homemade seafood chowder, your choice of a tasty PEI shelled lobster or a mouth-watering honey ham plate. The meal is topped off with a decadent blueberry shortcake dessert and tea or coffee is also included with your meal.
This annual event is the biggest fundraiser for our organization with all proceeds directed towards many conservation initiatives in our local area. The dinner also includes a silent auction, a cash bar and local vendor displays. Limited tickets will be sold, and tickets sell out quickly. Last year’s event was again very successful, selling out by serving over 475 meals. We are hugely appreciative to receive such boundless support from our community year after year to host our fundraising dinner. We are particularly thankful to fishers and buyers for donating lobster, to Shediac Lobster Shop Ltd. for processing our donated lobster, to our other meal item donors, silent auction, door prize donors and event volunteers who make this fundraising dinner such a huge success year after year.
The dinner will be served from 4:30 through 6 pm on Sunday, August 11th. Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under. Tickets are on sale now at Remedy’s RX and Vernon D’Eon’s Lobster Plugs in Souris as well as the Souris and Montague offices of The Cooperators: Jansen McKinnon Associates. Your ticket purchase will include a Souris and Area Wildlife Branch membership or a “Junior Wildlife” membership card for children. Takeout meals are available in the canteen area of the Sportsplex, but the main level of the complex will be set up to accommodate a sit-down meal.
Come out and enjoy a charming authentic PEI lobster meal where you are guaranteed not to leave hungry as you sit down to enjoy a local delicacy, chat with great company and at the same time you will be supporting Souris and Area Wildlife Branch to continue improving the environment in the Eastern Kings area.
